Mein Bruder - We'll Meet Again
Thomas Heise, noted documentary filmmaker from the former GDR, takes a trip to France to visit his brother Andreas. His brother lives there in a rather unusual situation.
Thomas Heise: "My brother is a cook. He left the city and his local pub in Berlin‘s Prenzlauer Berg. For a year now he has been living in France, in the mountains under the roof of Micha and Yvonne‘s guest-house. Andreas thought he‘d die here, three heart attacks, an operation, his heart and nothing to do, but that came to nothing. My big brother has suddenly fallen in love. In Vanina, the blacksmith‘s wife with the three sons.
Micha finances the little boarding-house by working at cardiac stations in Switzerland and Germany. He‘s a cardiographer.
Yvonne was, too. Now she has time for the kids.
My brother works for Micha and Yvonne. He cooks for them and for the few summer guests. Now it’s October. It‘s a short visit. I want to talk to my brother about Micha, his friend. Our IM, our unofficial informer."
