The five-parter based on Thomas Mann's novel "Confessions of Felix Krull" tells of the handsome entrepreneur's son Felix Krull. The gallant bon vivant has a talent for manoeuvring his way through life by telling lies and tricks. He wraps women around his finger and skilfully shuns military service and other inconveniences of everyday life. Thus, instead of serving at gunpoint, Felix takes up a job arranged by his godfather in a hotel in Monte Carlo, where he gets on a roll with the (mostly female) high society of the principality.
