Mein Freund der Feind

It's 1943: The Italians capitulate and withdraw from Albania, as German occupiers take their place. Harun, a merchant, befriends a German officer who enjoys paying him visits. At the same time, however, Harun is hiding partisan fighter Quasim, Italian soldier Giulio and Jewish watchmaker Hoakin in his basement. Featuring copious black humour and the adept deployment of Shostakovich's 7th Symphony, director Gjergj Xhuvani stages this incredible story based on his own grandfather's real-life experiences during the war.
