The Picture of Dorian Gray

Early film version of Oscar Wilde’s famous novel. Dorian Gray who is obsessed with his perfect appearance seems to have found the secret of eternal youth. Instead of him, a magic portrait of Dorian Gray grows old. But his physical flawlessness is borne by Gray’s mental health. His emotional deformation turns Gray into a criminal who murders his own friend and causes the death of a young woman. In the end, he destroys the fateful self-portrait and thus, ends his life at the same time. The portray takes on Dorian’s youthful looks again, while the dead Dorian Gray exhibits the features of an old man.
