Isabel auf der Treppe
Six years ago, Chilean Rosita Perez and her daughter Isabel emigrated from Chile to the German Democratic Republic. Their neighbours Margot and Dieter had become godmother and godfather to Isabel, but distracted by the routines of daily work and life, their relationship has cooled off over time. Although Rosita has work and keeps in contact with other emigrants from Chile, she does not feel at home in the GDR – mainly because her husband had to stay in Chile. Every day, she expects the news of his death. That is why Isabel intercepts the mail every day. She would conceal her father′s death from her mother fearing her mother would break from the grief. Only Isabel′s boy friend Philipp, Margot′s and Dieter′s son, realizes the difficult situation of Rosita and her daughter. One day, the news of Isabel′s father′s death finally arrives causing Rosita to break down. Isabel is sheltered by Philipp and his parents until Rosita has recovered.
