So rächt die Sonne

Lacking the money to pay for his seriously ill wife's medicine, a penniless innkeeper murders a minstrel. Years later, the innkeeper's daughter has fallen in love with the minstrel's son, Arpad. The innkeeper, Matter, has become wealthy with the money he stole from the minstrel and has built a new house for himself. He avoids the light because the sun has been called to witness the murder. Under the weight of the crime, Matter goes mad and sets fire to his house.
