Osceola
America at the beginning of the 19th century: The Indian tribe of the Seminoles firmly resists its deportation to a reservation. The Indians have retreated to Florida, where they are living of agriculture and livestock breeding. But their peaceful existence is threatened when they get in the way of white planters. Furthermore, black slaves again and again take refuge with the generous Seminoles. While plantation owner Raynes campaigns for a military strike against the Indians, timber mill owner Moore who comes from the northern states and is married to a Seminole wants to end the conflict without the force of arms – but to no avail. In 1835, war is declared between the white men and the Indians.
