Sabine Meinard′s life centers around her three sons. The charming widow is always able to give a good advice, no matter what the problem is. Her oldest son Axel is already married, but his wife Gisela, who is expecting their first child soon, is not too delighted about her husband′s always seeking his mother′s advice after a quarrel. The middle son Peter is officially a law student, but he is more interested in his female fellow students. The nestling Kai is still going to school. One day a young pretty student moves in with the family and Kai immediately falls in love with the shy girl, while Peter completely ignores her. Entanglements are bound to occur, especially because the mother of the family is keeping her relationship to a certain Mr. Horn a secret. But in the end she can welcome three new members in her family: a grandchild, a second daughter-in-law and a new husband.
