Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel
A modern take on the classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm: Aschenbrödel (known to the English-speaking world as Cinderella) has to work as a servant for her evil stepmother and the latter′s daughter Dora, both of whom have robbed the poor girl of her inheritance. During one of her frequent trips to the forest, Aschenbrödel meets the young prince, who is obliged to marry soon but isn′t excited by the idea of finding a wife. With the help of three magic hazelnuts, Aschenbrödel acquires three disguises, in which she approaches the prince. Assuming different identities – among them a hunter and a noblewoman – she charms herself into the heart of the royal heir. When the disguised Aschenbrödel loses one of her shoes during a ball, the prince desperately tries to find the mysterious girl. When he finds her, Aschenbrödel finally reveals her true identity to him. Realizing he was always enchanted by the same girl, the prince happily marries Aschenbrödel.
