René Schöttler was born in 1969 and studied Visual Communications at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. His filmography includes the documentaries "Der zwölfte Mann ist eine Frau", "Erdbeerlust" and "MSA24H – Alles!", as well as the short film "There's Nothing!" ("Da ist nichts!", in cooperation with Markus Schaefer, award winner at 24th Short Film Festival Hamburg). In 2005, he published "The Author’s Body – Film Theory No. 3" by Klaus Wildenhahn.
