Alexandre Powelz
Alexandre Powelz was born in Munich in 1970. First a humanities student in Düsseldorf, he later enrolled at the ifs film school in Cologne with a major in screenwriting. He then worked as a casting agent, screenwriter, production assistant, assistant director and journalist. In 2005 he and producer Alexander Seib co-founded the production company Salonfilm Powelz und Seib Film GbR, which is based in Berlin.
He wrote the script for the short "Niemand liebt Dich so wie ich", which went on to win several awards at international festivals. "Phantomschmerz", which he directed himself, starred Hannelore Elsner and screened at festivals in Palm Springs and Braunschweig. In Spring 2013, Powelz began production on his feature film debut, the drama "Ohne Dich", which premiered at Festival des deutschen Films in Ludwigshafen in June 2014.
