Bayreuther Proben

The first of five music documentaries made by Klaus Wildenhahn for Norddeutscher Rundfunk follows the rehearsals for the Bayreuth Festival in 1965 and is stylistically based on the models of direct cinema. Rehearsal recordings, interviews and conversations contrast the different positions and perceptions of Wagner's works in the ensemble.
