Christoph Schlingensief′s "reckoning of Helmut Kohl′s reunification" ("Süddeutsche Zeitung") combines horror and trash film elements: The news of the opening of the Berlin wall does not leave a West German butchers family untouched. Alfred and his family "celebrate" the reunification of East and West Germany with a gory party by systematically slaughtering former GDR citizens with chain saws and other butcher′s tools. True to the motto: "They came as friends and were made into sausage."
