Ann-Kristin Wecker was born in Leipzig in 1976. 1997-2001 worked as an intern and assistant at various film and television productions. Material assistant for Peter von Haller and others. Directed a stage play together with four other student directors at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin in 2004. 2001-2007 studied directing at the HFF film and television academy "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam- Babelsberg. After a number of short films "Jagdhunde" ("Hounds") is Ann-Kristin Wecker's first featurelength film.
