Leopold Grün, born in Dresden on 15.10.1968, he qualified as a teacher in 1989, moving to Munich to study social and media pedagogy from 1990-95, followed by social sciences at Humboldt University in Berlin from 1996- 98. In 2002 he graduated as a media consultant. An independent documentary filmmaker since 1993, he has also created video installations (with Nils Warnecke) and published articles on film. In 1999 he became managing director of the Berlin-based Institut Jugend Film Fernsehen. He has been co-curator of the Berlin short film festival, "Emergeandsee" since 2001.
