Das Bildnis des Dorian Gray
Dorian Gray
Massimo Dallamano's adaptation of Oscar Wilde's famous novel moves the plot to the late 1960s: Dorian Gray is a playboy who lives entirely for his pleasure and surrenders to every temptation. The portrait painted by his friend Basil, that shows Dorian wearing only jeans and a scarf, arouses the interest of the art dealer Wotton, who introduces him to high society. While Dorian indulges in all sorts of excesses, his portrait ages instead of his, while he himself remains flawless. When he wants to change his life and give up his light-heartedness, he has to realize that the picture keeps him imprisoned in this existence. His attempt to destroy the picture leads to disaster.
