Susanne Zacharias was born in 1973 in Romania. After attending several film workshops in the USA, she enrolled at the "Konrad Wolf" Academy of Film & Television (HFF/B) in Potsdam-Babelsberg. A selection of her films include: the shorts "Rueckblicke", "Lost in Water", "Obskur", "Heartbeat Hotel", "Betty Blue Box", and the documentary "Die Liebe zum Horizont", among others.
