Experimental filmmaker Werner Nekes combines motifs and elements of the antique odyssey and James Joyce's novel "Ulysses": Photographer Uli is on a journey from Dublin to Ithaka, or rather the Ruhr area. Also on the road in West-Germany is a young Englishman named Phil (or Telemach), a character derived from the play "The Warp" by Neil Oram, while Uli's model Tabea Bloomenschein (alias Penelope/Molly Bloom) dreams of a movie career. These three multi-personal protagonists are on an expedition through several visual worlds, all created by Nekes with different, historical forms of film language.
