Grand Hotel

The film tells of two eventful days and nights in a Berlin luxury hotel, during which the paths of very different people cross. It begins with the suicide attempt of the famous dancer Grusinskaya. After she is saved by the Baron von Gaigern, Grusinskaya falls in love with the impoverished nobleman. Von Gaigern, who keeps his head above water as a hotel thief, smells the chance of a lifetime when he finds out about the corrupt machinations of a businessman. He tries to blackmail the man - and shortly afterwards gets involved in a murder case.
