On the Move

Dortmund in 1978. The unemployed friends Lutz, Sulli, and Atze idle away their days in a desolate backyard. But their idleness makes them sick, their neighbours are observing them distrustfully, and their former colleagues are snearing at them. One day, the three of them decide to get out of their rut and they drive away. Destination: unknown, the main point is to leave their past behind. On their way, they pick up a hitchhiker on their trip to "freedom" – but soon the police and orderly citizens stick to the heels of the escapists.
