Doktor Faustus

Adaptation of the eponymous novel by Thomas Mann. It′s the fictional life story of composer Adrian Leverkühn, who, driven by his ambition to strive for excellence and to surpass human boundaries, strikes a deal with the devil and knowingly infects himself with syphilis. He experiences years of grandeur and genius, but then finally the time arrives when he has to pay the price for his glory.
