Jiska Rickels was born in 1977 in The Netherlands. Before studying at the Dutch Film & Television School in Amsterdam, she traveled the world performing in various music theater productions. During her studies, she also attended the Academy of Television & Film (HFF/M) in Munich. Her films include: "Capoeira" (1999), "Mijn Paradijs" (2000), "Goetterdaemmerung" (2002), her award-winning graduation film "Untertage" (2003), and "Himmelfilm: How Were the Skies Like When You Were Young?" (2004).
