After attending school in Würzburg, Ben von Grafenstein studied audio-visual media design from 1996-99. In 1999/2000 he worked as a freelance Avid editor in Cologne. Ben von Grafenstein was a student of the Baden- Württemberg Film Academy from the year 2000 to 2006. "Blindflug" marks his first feature-length film.
