Falschmünzer
The university professor Zange conducts research on the theory of genetics and the human character. According to his theory, characteristics that are acquired and not innate can also be passed on to descendants. This research displeases especially the Church, represented by Professor Brižezinskij, who wants to damage the reputation of Zange by using incriminating material. For this purpose Brižezinskij is in contact with Prince Karlstein and hires some henchmen. In addition, he joins forces with a banker and counterfeiter in order to put a definitive end to Zange's career.
