Biography

Florian Mischa Böder was born in Hannover in 1974. From 1997 to 2002, he studied at the Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne. Böder's "Ich muss gehen" (2000) won the award for Best Short Film at the 2001 Max-Ophüls-Preis Festival, and he himself received a fellowship award for exceptional talent at the Kurzfilmtage Winterthur.

From 2001 on, Böder worked freelance as a writer and director for film, television and stage. He directed episodes of the "Harald-Schmidt-Show" (2001-2003) and plays at the Theater Aachen (2005-2007), and as a writer, he developed stories for the children's TV show "Die Sendung mit der Maus". In 2006, he contributed a segment to the omnibus film "Die österreichische Methode". Böder's feature film debut "Nichts geht mehr" (2007) garnered lead actor Jörg Pohl the Actor's Award at the 2008 Max-Ophüls-Preis.

Böder's next feature, the comedy "Die Einsamkeit des Killers vor dem Schuss", premiered at the 2014 Locarno Film Festival. The film's story concerns a contract killer who gets his first assignment just when he has met the woman of his dreams.
