Baris Pirhasan
Biography
Baris Pirhasen studied English and Literature at Bogazici University in Istanbul from 1972-76 and graduated in Film & TV Direction from the UKÍs NFTS in 1992. During his time at the NFTS, he wrote several scripts and directed a number of films, such as the feature "Kuecuel Baliklar" ("Little Fishes", 1990) and the shorts The Hitch and "Things Of No Importance" (1989/92). In 1992, he wrote the original story for a TV series called "Plastic" and co-founded The Cinema Foundation with nine fellow directors and producers in Turkey in 1994. In 1996, he directed "Sawdust Tales" which he adapted from a short story by Bilge Karasu.
