Old Guyard, barber of a small Irish town, is despised by his fellow citizens. Although he is not a criminal, all his fellow citizens are suspicious of him because the taciturn Guyard is the only inhabitant of the town who goes to visit the mysterious house surrounded by a high wall every day.
Yet it is only because of his affection for the elderly landlord that Guyard comes to the mansion every day to shave the man. Like Guyard himself, this man is a loner who doesn't care about his fellow people. And still, if the barber had known more about what was happening in the house, he would never have sent his apprentice Florian there at the request of the old man. Thus, however, a tragedy of murder and love, madness and passion takes its course.Strange events befall the Irish town - but in the end it turns out that the old man in the spooky house was not as dangerous as some people thought. He was just a victim of love.
