Die Schlüssel
At the Berlin-Schönefeld airport, Ric and Klaus meet a married couple from Krakow, Poland, that is on its way to Paris. The Polish couple leaves the key of their Krakow flat to the Germans for a vacation. This trip is meant to allow them both to get to know each other better and to understand each other better. Klaus is a diligent student, Ric a working woman who is employed in a factory. She is without ambition and it is her only dream to settle into family life with husband and children one day. Klaus tries to encourage her to make more out of her life and to qualify for more responsible tasks but his words fall on deaf ears. Again and again, both have to ask themselves if their diverging philosophies of life fit together after all. After another of many controversial discussions, Klaus leaves the flat to buy some cigarettes. Ric who believes that he wants to leave her for good, is panicking and frenetically follows him when she is hit by a cable car and is fatally injured.
