Biography
Peter Goedel was born in Torgau in 1945 and studied Literature and Drama, Art History and Philosophy in Cologne and Munich. He worked as a dramaturg and assistant director in the theatre and as an assistant director in television from 1972. He started making films in 1974 and received a German Film Prize in 1988 for "The Greenhouse" ("Das Treibhaus"). His films also include "Talent Contest" (1981, documentary), "Ortelsburg – Szczytno. Once upon a time in Masuria" ("Ortelsburg - Szczytno. Einmal in Masuren", 1990), "Trip to Tunis" (1993), "50 Years Cannes Film Festival" (1996, documentary), "Tangiers" ("Tanger", 1996).
