Tecumseh
The Shawnee Indian Tecumseh tries to unify his tribe against the violent banishment by the white men and opposes against a new form of land appropriation: The white men make purchase contracts with the Indians and want to use their fruitful habitats for their profit-oriented businesses. Dedicated Tecumseh succeeds to unify other Indian tribes to an alliance of tribes that declares their land to be an unmarketable common property. Harrison, the governor of Indiana, disapproves and in 1811 raids the capital of the alliance of the tribes while Tecumseh is absent. The Indians take on the battle, but suffer a devastating loss and flee to Canada. There, they join the Britons in the "second war of independence" against the Americans. In a battle with the Americans, the Britons abandon their new allies and Tecumseh dies in the battle.
