Tom Wlaschiha
Thomas "Tom" Wlaschiha was born in Dohna on June 20 1973. From 1992 until 1996, he studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. He subsequently performed at the Theater Junge Generation in Dresden until 1999, while also making his first appearances in TV shows like "Wolkenstein" and "Der Fahnder".
Thomas Wlaschiha made his feature film debut as the male lead of the mystery thriller "No One Sleeps" (2000). From 2000 to 2004, he was part of the main cast of the TV series "Die Rettungsflieger" ("The Air Rescue Team"), and he also starred in made-for-TV films like "Verliebte Jungs" ("Rent a Baby", 2001) and "Die Stunde der Offiziere" (2004).
While memorable roles in the theatrical releases "Pura Vida Ibiza" (2004), "Bergkristall" (2004) and "Die Wolke" ("The Cloud ", 2006) followed, Wlaschiha also appeared in bit parts in the US productions "Munich" (2005) and "16 Blocks" (2006). After starring in the TV miniseries "Unter den Linden - Das Haus Gravenhorst" (2006), and the WWII drama "Die Gustloff" (2008, TV), he was cast in the screen adaptation of the fairy tale "Krabat" (2008). Following a part in the daily soap "Eine für alle - Frauen können's besser" (2009), he went on to appear in the UK miniseries "The Deep" (2010) and the British WWII drama "Resistance" (2011).
In 2012, Wlaschiha played the lead in the romantic comedy "Frisch gepresst" ("Freshly Squeezed") before joining the cast of the worldwide TV phenomenon "Game of Thrones". In addition to his role on the hit series, he had prolific parts in the theatrical releases "Rush – Alles für den Sieg" ("Rush", USA/GB/DE 2013) and "Mr. Turner" (GB 2014). Moreover, he became one of the regulars on the international crime drama series "Crossing Lines" (US/FR/DE).
In 2016, Tom Wlaschiha starred opposite Ken Duken in the latter's directorial debut "Berlin Falling".
