Das Einmaleins der Liebe
Based loosely on Nestroy′s small-town idyll "Einen Jux will er sich machen": Sophie, a merchant′s daughter, shall marry the grocer Weinberl. But beforehand she wants to know if he really is the right one for her. Weinberl on the other hand by all means wants to get to the city, where he is determined to look for a lady who has once waved at him, at least that′s what he thinks, and with whom he is desperately in love since then. But now Sophie appears on the scene. Disguised as a boy she applies as a tailor′s apprentice and forces Weinberl to take her with him into the city; he has no other choice but to accept. In her disguise she starts all sorts of confusion and crazy events, in order to test the loyalty of her husband-to-be. In the end he can decide this test on his behalf.
