Martin Gies was born in 1951 and studied at Munich"s Academy of Television & Film (HFF/M). Since 1975, he has worked as a freelance writer and producer. Well-known for his crime stories, his films include: numerous "Tatort" and "Ein Fall fuer zwei" episodes, TV movies such as "Ich, der Boss" (1995)," Nichts geht mehr" (1988), and "Hoellische Nachbarn - Nur Frauen sind schlimmer" (2000), among others.
