Alte Seegrasspinnerei - Ökologisches, soziales und kulturelles Zentrum

The "Alte Seegrasspinnerei" (seaweed spinning mill) in Nürtingen, Baden-Württemberg, has been in existence for almost four decades and sees itself as an ecological, social and cultural center. The project is run by a youth welfare organization and focuses on working with children and young people. They are offered day care, youth work and help in various areas of life. The center also offers cultural events, creative workshops, and serves as a meeting place for the community. The documentary takes a look behind the scenes and accompanies the dedicated people who keep the project alive, but also face a major challenge: the lease expires in 2023, threatening the end of the seaweed spinning mill.
