Die Frau, nach der man sich sehnt
Henri Leblanc, descendant of a bankrupt industry dynasty, is to marry a rich heiress in order to save his family's factory. While travelling on a train during his honeymoon, Leblanc meets mysterious Stascha, who is bound to Dr. Karloff since both share a dark secret. Leblanc madly falls in love with her, leaves his wife and plans to run away with Stascha. Karoff threatens to stop them. When Leblanc calls the police, Karoff shoots Stascha. – Marlene Dietrich's performance anticipates the type of role she later played in the films of Josef von Sternberg.
