Aybi Era
Aybi Era was born on August 15, 1990 in Berlin-Charlottenburg. From September 2014 to September 2017, she studied at the Hamburg School of Drama and appeared in several productions at the studio theater there: for example as Hermia in "A Midsummer Night's Dream", in the title role of "Rotkäppchen" and as Stella in "A Streetcar Named Desire ". She also appeared in several short films.
After graduating, Aybi Era was given a permanent leading role in the Hamburg crime series "Notruf Hafenkante" in early summer 2018: Until April 2022, she teamed up with Marc Barthel as Kristian "Kris" Freiberg in 52 episodes as Berlin-born investigator Pinar Aslan. At the same time, Era took on episodic roles in other series, for example in "Familie Dr. Kleist" (2019) and "Großstadtrevier" (2021). She was also part of the ensemble of the culture clash comedy "Matze, Kebab und Sauerkraut" (2020, TV), played the lead role in the romantic comedy "Alice im Weihnachtsland" (2021, TV) and a colleague of the main character in the mystery series "Another Monday" (2022).
From October 2022, Abyi Era was seen again in a regular series role: in the crime series "Jenseits der Spree", she took on the role of detective chief inspector Mavi Neumann alongside Jürgen Vogel. She had a leading TV role in the thriller "The Whistleblower" (2023). The mystery political thriller "Im toten Winkel" ("In the Blind Spot"), set in Turkey, premiered at the 2023 Berlinale in the Encounters section, with Era in the role of a Turkish interpreter. The award-winning film was released at the beginning of January 2024.
