Doron Paz
Doron Paz was born on January 10, 1978 in Natanya, Israel, and is the son and grandson of a family of theater and film directors. After graduating from high school, he studied simultaneously with his brother Yoav, who is two years his senior, at the film school of Tel Aviv University. During their studies, the two joined forces as a directing duo and shot music videos and commercials.
Doron and Yoav Paz made their feature film debut with the psychodrama "Phobidilia" (IL 2009), which was shown in the Panorama Special section at the Berlinale 2010. Over the next few years, they directed episodes of Israeli television series. For their second feature film, the fantasy horror film "Jeruzalem" (IL 2015), they were awarded the Audience Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival. The mystical horror film "The Golem" (IL 2018) also screened at several international festivals, such as in Busan (South Korea) and at the Toronto Jewish Film Festival.
In 2019, the brothers began work on the German-Israeli-American co-production "Plan A", based on a true story about a failed terrorist attack by Jewish Holocaust survivors in Germany in 1945. The film was released in December 2021.
