Yoav Paz
Yoav Paz was born on 12 January 1976 in Natanya, Israel. His parents and grandparents were theater and film directors. Together with his brother Doron, who is two years younger, he attended film school at Tel Aviv University. As a directing duo, the brothers shot music videos and commercials during their studies.
Yoav and Doron Paz made their feature film debut with the psychodrama "Phobidilia" (IL 2009), which was shown in the Panorama Special section at the Berlinale 2010. Over the next few years, they directed episodes of Israeli television series. For their second feature film, the fantasy horror film "Jeruzalem" (IL 2015), they were awarded the Audience Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival. The mystical horror film "The Golem" (IL 2018) also screened at several international festivals, such as in Busan (South Korea) and at the Toronto Jewish Film Festival.
In 2019, the brothers began work on the German-Israeli-American co-production "Plan A", based on a true story about a failed terrorist attack by Jewish Holocaust survivors in Germany in 1945. The film was released in December 2021.
