Benjamin Westermann, born on 13 August 1984 on the Lower Rhine, studied in Cologne and in 2016 founded the production company Add Edit in Cologne together with Boris Breithaupt, which specialises in editing services. The company has been working with EndemolShine, Constantin, Warner Bros. and Bavaria, among others. With Add Edit, Westermann also produced his directorial debut in 2019 (co-directed with Julian Brimmers), the documentary " We Almost Lost Bochum - Die Geschichte von RAG " ("We Almost Lost Bochum"), about the history and influence of the German rap band RAG. He was also responsible for camera and editing. The premiere took place in autumn 2019 at the Hofer Filmtage; the German theatrical release was in September 2020.
