Katerina Lipovska was born in Bulgaria. At the age of three she appeared on stage at the children's theatre run by her mother. In 2018 she took part in a casting of the German-Bulgarian co-production "Pelikanblut" ("Pelican Blood") and was cast by director Katrin Gebbe in the leading role of a traumatised adopted child who displays increasingly threatening behaviour. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival in autumn 2019 and was released in German cinemas one year later.
