The documentary focuses on Constanza, Kwasi, Eduardo and Nairika, who are staying in Germany for twelve months as exchange students. The twelve months are a challenge not only for the four, who come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, but also for their host families. During their entire stay, the camera accompanies the students and their families. And over time, the camera becomes a confidant to whom both the students and the German host parents entrust their joys, worries and experiences.
