A Gschicht über d'Lieb
Sankt Peter, a small village in southern Germany in the early 1950s. Gregor and Maria are brother and sister, the children of the farmer Bacher. Their father is bound by the rigid tradition that his only son must one day take over the farm. But Gregor has a very different dream: he wants to leave the farm and build a gas station on the main road that passes through the village. To do this, he needs his father's financial help. Although Maria tries to mediate, the men are unable to settle their dispute. Finally, the father gives in: he is willing to support his son if Maria marries soon and thus ensures the proper continuation of the farm. The ultimatum confronts the siblings with the most important decision of their lives. For they are bound together by a special bond.
