Die Schule auf dem Zauberberg

Documentary film about the everyday life at what is probably the most exclusive elite boarding school in the world, located in Switzerland. At first glance, the typical daily routine does not seem to differ much from that of other students and teachers. However, the students all come from rich as well as powerful families and are supposed to be prepared for their later roles in society. The filmmakers accompany several students through their final school year and let them talk about their goals, dreams and uncertainties. A central role is played by a young man from Istanbul, who would like to escape the pressure of the school and the enormously high expectations of his father to realize his own plans for the future.
