The documentary film deals with the history of the Volksmarinedivision (People's Navy Division) in Berlin immediately after the end of the First World War. This armed formation was formed during the November Revolution and consisted mainly of sailors. After a political turn to the left and increasing conflicts with government forces, the Volksmarinedivision was disbanded after the March Fights of 1919.
