It’s like driving a car and all of a sudden not knowing what just happened in the last 30 seconds – except that with Kai, it’s more like the last 30 years. And tonight he is participating in a story telling competition in a shoddy corner bar, but he doesn’t have the slightest idea what story he could possibly tell. He would have thought of one if other things weren’t constantly intervening, like now, he has to go to the bathroom, but the line is so long that he goes outside to pee in the river. And even then, fate intervenes in the form of a boat, heading in his direction, forcing him to dodge and thus turning his whole life upside down when he slips on the river bank.
