Breakdown in Tokyo - Ein Vater dreht durch

The 60-year-old director Lászlo Kovács and his wife and producer Emma accompany with a small crew the son of the director and his band PEROPERO on a several week concert tour through Japanese live clubs to shoot a documentary film.

But when Lászlo, who is in the midst of a midlife crisis, and the young tour manager Nahoko unexpectedly fall in love with one another, not only does the shoot get thrown out of sync, so too does Lászlos’ life. Emma is at first tolerant and doesn’t begrudge her husband’s little adventure, but when Lászlo goes overboard, she’s had enough and demands that he end the affair. Reluctantly, Lászlo calls things off with Nahoko, but he doesn’t reckon with her vindictive feelings. She sabotages the shoot and disappears with Emma’s laptop, where all of the production data has been saved. Lászlo has to find Nahoko and bring her back, at all costs. He takes off on a gruelling search through Tokyo …
