Looking for Oum Kulthum

For the exiled Iranian director Mitra it's a dream come true: She gets a chance to shoot a film about her role model, the legendary Arab singer Oum Kulthum, who paid a high price for standing her ground in the patriarchic Arab society. During the production of her film though, Mitra encounters resistance and faces problems similar to those her idol did. Moreover, she finds it increasingly difficult to truly capture Oum Kulthum in all her facets as an artist, woman and mythical figure. Things start getting completely out of hand when her adolescent son disappears.
