ACT! - Wer bin ich?
Documentary about the Berlin-based organization ACT and its unusual educational program. Founded by former schoolteacher Maike Plath and two other women, ACT's aim is to motivate students with troubled backgrounds and to help them learning by engaging them in a drama class. At first, the school administration was skeptical of this approach, yet Plath, who gave up her secure teaching job for the project, ultimately proved the success of her concept. Now, more then twenty artists and teachers are already working according to her method, and more are trained all over Germany. The film follows Plath and a group of students over the course of several months as they develop a play and eventually stage it at the Heimathafen in Berlin.
