Weit. The Story of a Journey Around the World

Patrick and Gwen from Freiburg take off towards the East as a couple, to return home from the West as a family, three and a half years and 97.000 kilometers later. Without flying and with only a small budget they explore the world, always accompanied by curiosity and spontaneity. In the centre of their travel is always the encounter of people and nature. Gwen and Patrick hitchhike through countries like Tajikistan, Georgia, Iran, Pakistan, China and Mongolia. From Japan they take a container boat to Mexico. After the birth of their son, Bruno, they drive through Central America with an old Volkswagen van. As they touch European ground again, after a cruise trip from Costa Rica to Spain, the young family decides to finish their circumnavigation of the world on foot, with a 1200 kilometer march to their home in Freiburg.
