Marie Curie
Biopic about the famous scientist. Born in Poland in 1876, Maria Skłodowska early on displays an extraordinary gift for physics and chemistry. Since woman aren't allowed to attend university in Poland, she leaves for Paris in 1891. For years, she has to weather hostilities in the male-dominated science departments. Eventually, she meets a man who absolutely sees eye to eye with her in Pierre Curie. Their professional partnership turns into deep love and the two get married. Despite tragic setbacks, Marie Curie unerringly pursues her goals during the following years, which leads to her sharing the 1903 Nobel Prize for physics and the 1911 Nobel Prize for chemistry. Following her husband's death, she finds a new love in her married colleague Paul Langevin. Yet as their affair becomes widely known, it causes a public uproar.
